Rats are living beings, just like us. That is why our bench is designed with respect for the animal – a stress‑free way to catch them, with access to water, no fear, no pain. We are not enemies of the rat. We offer a humane solution to a problem people and rats share.

Below are the public specifications for the world’s first humane rat trap bench.

Outer Shell – Wood

Wood species: Solid Western Red Cedar (naturally rot‑resistant, lightweight, stable)
Thickness: 0.7 inches (18 mm) for all panels: seat, front, back, bottom, two sides, two end caps
Finish: Scandinavian linseed oil & pine tar system – protects against moisture, mold, and UV
Rot warranty: 25+ years. In harsh northern climates (e.g., Canada, US northern states), proven up to 50 years.
Standard color: Natural wood – warm brown tones. Fits almost any landscape or interior, indoors or outdoors.
Optional colors: Any RAL color available with two‑part polyurethane paint (UV‑resistant, matte or satin). Extra charge applies
Customizable: The wooden shell can be adapted to site needs – different dimensions, extra mounting holes, etc. Just ask.

Interior – Stainless Steel (Type 304) – Fully Humane

The entire interior is made from stainless steel. Rats cannot damage or chew through it.

What truly matters: Every part – tunnel, locking mechanisms, slide, and catch cage – is designed for rat welfare. Rats walk in voluntarily, cannot go back, and end up in a spacious, clean cage with constant fresh water. No stress, no injury, no neglect.

Because this humane mechanism is our invention, we do not publish full technical drawings here. We gladly share details with serious buyers under a simple non‑disclosure agreement – not to hide secrets, but to prevent copying by those who do not prioritize rat welfare.

What we do show publicly:

Catch cage (removable): Stainless steel mesh (3/8 inch openings, 1.5 mm wire). Interior size: 16 x 16 x 18 inches (400 x 400 x 450 mm). Smooth walls – rats cannot climb. Includes a handle for easy replacement.
Water system: Stainless steel drinking nipple in the cage lid, with a holder for an inverted 2‑liter (half‑gallon) PET bottle. Rats always have fresh water, even if service is delayed.
Entrance & tunnel: Designed to guide rats quietly and safely – no shocks, no sharp edges.

Modular & Flexible

Straight line: Multiple modules can be joined end‑to‑end. Each additional bench catches another 20–50 rats.
Special shapes: Because the outer shell is wood, we can also build L‑shaped, T‑shaped, or cross (+) benches on request. Panels are cut at angles, and joints are reinforced. Contact us for a custom quote.
Shipping: Flat‑pack (unassembled) or fully assembled. Flat‑pack saves up to 50% on shipping and is easy to transport and store.

Warranty & Lifespan

Wooden outer shell (Scandinavian coating): 25+ years against rot and delamination. In harsh climates (Canada, northern US), proven up to 50 years.
Stainless steel interior (tunnel, mechanisms, cage, nipple): 20+ years (Type 304 does not rust under normal use).
PET bottle: replaceable wear part – no warranty.
Optional painted finish (RAL): 10–15 years, depending on color and UV exposure.

Assembly & Maintenance

Flat‑pack assembly: Every bench comes with a clear photo‑illustrated manual. Only basic tools needed (screwdriver, Allen key – both included). Assembly time: about 20–30 minutes per module.
Wood maintenance: Re‑oil every 5–8 years with linseed oil or Scandinavian tar. A maintenance kit is available through us. Painted benches need no maintenance during the paint warranty (10–15 years).
Stainless steel maintenance: Rinse occasionally with clean water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
